Congrats to the 2024 University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) turf teams finishing 6th, 29th, and 30th out of 63 teams at the 2024 Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) conference in Phoenix, Arizona. The students in the 6th place team were Alex Uram, Scout Allen, John Tines, and Matt Boyd. The other students involved in the turf bowl include Sam Norrenberns, Easton Petsche, Ridge Gerstberger, TJ Thalman, Walker Petersen, and Carson Vachal.

The turf bowl at the GCSAA conference topics included multiple choice related to turfgrass management, turfgrass identification, insect and disease identification, weed identification, and seed identification. The UNL turfgrass team were advised by Anne Streich, Professor of Practice at the UNL Agronomy and Horticulture Department. While at the GCSAA conference, the students also visited State Farm Stadium, home to the NFL Arizona Cardinals, and Mountain America Stadium, home of the Arizona State University Sun Devils football program.

Again, congrats to the UNL turfgrass science and management students at the 2024 GCSAA conference!
